Ceropegia woodie, commonly known as Chain of Hearts, is an attractive, trailing vine with heart-shaped leaves featuring green, silver and purple colouring. The flowers are quite interesting, they a tubular in shape with downward pointed hairs. The flowers tend to be light pink or purple in colouring. Flowers can bloom throughout the year but are abundant in Summer. It is rare for the Chain of Hearts to bloom when kept indoors. This unique plant can grow to 2-4m in length and is fantastic for hanging baskets as it cascades down.

The chain of Hearts is mostly kept as an indoor plant but it still needs to have bright, indirect light to thrive. If it isn’t getting enough light the leaves will start to pale and the leaves won’t grow close together. It will be more vine than leaves. It can be planted outdoors but if the plant receives too much sunlight the leaves may scorch. Let the soil dry out in-between waterings. Over watering can lead to root rot.
