Growbed 1800 – Treated Pine

A perfect addition to any pond and is a great start for someone just getting started in Aquaponics. Aquaponics works with the aid of the good bacteria in your ponds. Fish produce waste and ammonia in the pond, which is toxic to them. The bacteria converts the ammonia into nitrite and then into nitrate, which plants use as a growing nutrient. This nutrient rich water is pumped to a grow bed for the plants, which then filter and clean the water for the fish. So with aquaponics you can grow fish and plants to eat.

Size: 1840 (L) x 220 (W) x 110 (H) mm

The tray size for both are exactly the same. The Sizing above is for the total length, width and height of the product. The tray itself is approximately 180 (L) x 17 (W) x 7 (D) cm - (Inside Measurements). To fill this tray with media you would need 21.5 L.

These Growbeds are constructed from H3 LOSP Treated pine timber which is considered safe, however there is no available data on toxicity to fish. If you are concerned about the possibility of the treatment affecting your fish you should paint the growbed with sealer, woodstain or paint to make it completely safe.
