Airline tubing is used to connect from air pump to stone or aerating ornament. It's always a good idea, when using this tubing with an air pump, to ensure a check valve is in place. This will stop any water from siphoning out of your aquarium or pond if the pump fails. 

Black Airline tubing is preferable if you are using outdoors as it is UV stabilized.
