Otterbine offers a variety of aeration systems including aerating fountains, industrial aerators and subsurface diffused air systems. Choosing the right system is critical and depends on the amount of aquatic vegetation, the visual effect desired and the available power. When determining aeration vs. aesthetic, know the aeration systems need to provide a minimum of 1kg of oxygen per horsepower hour, and produce rates of 86.3 m3 per hour, per horsepower. A general rule of thumb when selecting a system for aeration is 2HP per surface acre.
