Commonly known as the Parlour Palm, Chamaedorea elegans is a small palm that produces dark green foliage and tiny yellow flowers. The soft fern-like fronds with thin leaflets add to the attractive display of this palm. Chamaedorea elegans is an ideal container plant for indoors, or outdoors in a cool, moist position that is protected from hot sun and drying winds. This palm can tolerate low levels of humidity. Chamaedorea elegans is relatively low maintenance. During spring and summer, fertilise on a monthly basis.
Light: Chamaedorea elegans prefers full shade, or indoors with indirect light exposure. Protect from hot sun and drying winds.
Watering: Keep the soil moist, allowing the top layer of the soil to dry out between watering. Ensure that enough water is provided based on the amount of light the plant receives.
