Haworthiopsis attenuate have rosettes of dark green pointed leaves with white bumpy stripes. The leaves grow outwards from the centre giving a star-like pattern. Small tubular, pink to white flowers bloom on thin stems that extend above the foliage. There is another species of Haworthiopsis that is quite similar to this one. Haworthiopsis fasciata is also known as, Zebra Plant, as it looks quite like Haworthiopsis attenuate. The differences being that fasciata leaves are smooth and fatter than attenuate.
Haworthiopsis attenuate is a very low maintenance, drought tolerant plant. Fantastic for people who forget to water their plants as they can survive long periods without water. Over watering can lead to root rot. It can also tolerate different light conditions, although it prefers bright indirect light. Too much sunlight can scorch the leaves. The plant produces small offsets that sprout from the base of plant. These can pulled off and replanted.
