Crassula ovata ‘hummel’s sunset’ has glossy, rounded leaves which colourings transitions from deep green to gold to a deep red at the tips. The intensity of the colours can deepen with cooler weather and plenty of sunlight. In Winter, the plant can bloom – showing off clustered star-shaped pink or white flowers. If planted in the garden or a large enough pot the Crassula ovata can reach a height of 90cm. It grows from a thick single main stem that branches out forming a dense, fleshy shrub. Watering too much in Winter can lead to root rot. It is a great indoor plant in indirect sunlight and a considered good luck symbol – bringing good energy, money and luck.
