This evergreen fine leaf form of Lomandra longifolia resembles a grass tree without the trunk. Its narrow, strappy leaves produce small striking yellow flowers from September to October which contrasts against its blue-toned foliage. Lomandra longifolia 'Nyalla' tolerates a wide range of soils and climates. This native is suited to full sun as well as shaded positions. The soil types Lomandra longifolia 'Nyalla' prefer tends to be sandy loam, clay loam and free draining light clay. Often seen in coastal landscapes, other uses for Lomandra longifolia 'Nyalla' also include mass planting in gardens, roadsides, and residential and commercial planting. The foliage is also popular in flower arrangements as foliage filler. Very little maintenance is required for Lomandra longifolia 'Nyalla'. Plant in a well mulched garden, fertilise with a slow release fertiliser early spring. Water well until established but avoid over watering in heavier soils.
