These baskets can be used for many types and sizes of aquatic plants, both above ground and in a pond. They are sturdy, made from UV stabilised plastic and are non toxic to plants and fish.

Pond Plant Baskets prevent pond plants from being invasive. Where at the same time keeping the soil around the plant roots and allowing water flow in order to supply nutrients and oxygen. This aeration of the soil prevents it from becoming anaerobic (depleted of oxygen) and foul smelling. The Contour Basket is 455mm in length, the widest point 180mm and the depth 150mm.

Our Recommendation for Planting Pond Plants: 

Line the bottom of a plastic plant pot with newspaper to stop soil from flowing through the holes then hold the plant to be potted in position while you pour the potting mix in around it. Fill the pot to approximately 3-4 cm from the top and push down firmly. Push one fertiliser tablet per medium pot (two for large pots) into the soil near the plant roots. Spread a layer of white sand or river sand on the top, about one cm thick. This will stop the soil from discolouring the water. Spread a layer of gravel stones on top of the pot to stop your fish from digging up the soil.
