The Red Stem Milfoil is a very attractive plant with bright green densely leaved red stems with fine needle leaves that look like fluffy plumes. The Water Milfoil can be fully submerged in water and will grow to the surface and spread providing great habitat for frogs, tadpoles, small fish and eggs. Milfoil’s growth slows down in winter but will stay lush and green throughout the colder months. The Red-Stem Milfoil is great at adapting to various water and light conditions. It is suitable for Aquariums unlike the Green Stem Milfoil.
Pond Plants are always a great addition to any pond. They compete with the algae for nutrients which helps to keep the pond clean. Having multiple plants can be an effective way of filtering the water but you generally need to have half the water surface covered to have a noticeable change. This also depends on certain factors such as type of fish and location of the pond. As well as filtering the water, pond plants help to oxygenate the water during the day.
Our Pond Plants can come in two main pot sizes, 140mm ($12.95) or 200mm ($20.00) pot. The 140mm pots are generally always in stock but the larger 200mm pots are not always available. Seasonal plants are not generally available during dormancy. Please check for availability.
