The Umbrella Grass is a fast growing, low maintenance pond plant with long stems and dark green umbrella shaped foliage. The Umbrella Grass is a fantastic plant that can cope with a wide range of light and temperature levels. The Umbrella grass has well-developed roots, and its self-seeding tendencies means it can spread quite quickly in the right conditions and left to its own devices. We recommend (like most pond plants) to keep them in pots as they are easier to remove for maintenance. If left without maintenance for too long they can form a heavy clump that may be difficult to move.
Pond Plants are always a great addition to any pond. They compete with the algae for nutrients which helps to keep the pond clean. Having multiple plants can be an effective way of filtering the water but you generally need to have half the water surface covered to have a noticeable change. This also depends on certain factors such as type of fish and location of the pond. As well as filtering the water, pond plants help to oxygenate the water during the day.
Our Pond Plants can come in two main pot sizes, 140mm ($12.95) or 200mm ($20.00) pot. The 140mm pots are generally always in stock but the larger 200mm pots are not always available. Seasonal plants are not generally available during dormancy. Please check for availability.
