SubAir Deluxe Aeration Station 4000 is suitable for ponds up to 2 acres depending on shape and depth of pond. PondMAX SubAir Rocking Piston Compressors are specifically designed for the demanding job of 24 hour operation. In addition to adding oxygen to your pond, an aeration system creates a circulation action. It takes hours for the maximum effect to be achieved, therefore we recommend running these systems continuously so that the maximum circulation is sustained. The oil-less design aerates with no electricity in the water. The shore mounted compressor sends air through tubing to a bottom mounted diffuser for a safe, effective way to aerate ponds. Requires 3/8" tubing and diffusers (not included).

Diffuser Placement
The amount of surface area an aeration system will effectively cover is greatly dependent on two factors - DEPTH and SHAPE. The deeper an air diffuser is located, the more boiling action it will create and a larger area will be aerated. The diagram shows how much surface area is effectively aerated per air diffuser at various depths. Ponds that are irregular or odd shaped will also reduce size of aeration area. Example: Our single diffuser, 1/4hp pond aerator would aerate only 1/8 of an acre if operated in 1.2m depth. If operating in 3.6m - 5m depth the 1/4hp pond aerator will aerate 1 acre. The shape of a pond affects the amount of diffusers needed. Irregular shaped ponds often require multiple diffusers to adequately aerate entire water column.

The Diffuser should not be placed in the deepest part of the pond. Try to locate the diffuser at approximately 2/3 to 3/4 of the deepest point. Example: A 4.5m deep pond would have the diffuser at approximately 3m - 3.6m deep). This allows the deepest water to remain cool in the Summer and stay warm in the Winter.
